My name is Vermin Supreme. I’m a tyrant that you should trust and you should let me run your life because I do know what is best for you…I will promise you anything your little electorate heart desires because you are my constituents, you are the informed voting public, and because I have no intention of keeping any promise that I make.

Vermin Supreme

 • Heck YES.

 • Anonymous:: As a Christian I find it appalling that you care so little about the loss of unborn life.

 • Me:: As a Christian, I find it hypocritical of you to expect a murderous institution like the government, which has killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people through war and misuses/overuses the death penalty, to have the moral discernment to prevent the loss of unborn life through even more force and violence. I also find a big concern in that you would prefer something as serious as abortion to be put on the black market so it can endanger even more lives than it already does. Just because I don’t trust the government to solve a problem doesn’t mean that I don’t care about said problem.

Seriously, WHAT HAPPENED? CORRUPT MEANS CORRUPT.

I decided I just couldn’t ignore the obvious social similarities between this movie and the current societal climate and went to work in photoshop :-)

Temporal and Eternal in the Coming Crisis

The state, in every political stripe and color, has declared war on its citizens through its standing army in the police force. It is preparing to place a literal standing army on home soil.

It is degrading into the massive and all encompassing dictatorship into which states must inherently degrade, regardless of how small they are in the beginning.

The banking system is on the brink of complete and catastrophic collapse. The corporate elite continues to bleed us of what little money we have.

The Federal Reserve continues to invent money out of thin air in an effort to keep the masses content with their valueless currency.

There is no way any of us can live in this system. Not only is it wrong to attempt to justify or defend this anti-human structure, it is about to be a moot point.

We are on the brink of collapse. When that collapse happens, which it will, will you have any hope? Will you have any alternative solutions?

May I present solutions to you?

First, and this is for everyone who may read this regardless of what religious affection they hold or what political stripe they wear, let me offer temporal solutions. These will work whether you believe we’re headed straight back to matter when we die and nothing else for all eternity or whether you believe God has some eschatological plan for the future. These will work for Muslims as well as they will work for Mormons. They will work for Atheists as well as they will work for Christians.

(1) You must begin seeking alternatives. As the state, corporate elite, and banks continue to collapse, they will not be able to meet any of your needs. They will not build your roads. They will not feed you. They will not house you. They will not clothe you. The state cannot take care of you. The banks cannot continue inventing money. However, they will do everything in their power to block you from creating alternatives. Which is why you need to start NOW. THIS instant. You need to stop hoping and believing that this corrupt and dying structure will go on working. It will not. It is dead and the hints of life we some coming from it are merely the last vestiges of life that remain; the heat of the body during cooling down period of the corpse. Rigor mortis is setting in.

We must find alternatives to police ourselves. We must find alternatives to trade (since the Federal Reserve Note no longer means anything.) We must find alternatives to infrastructure. We must find alternatives to eat. We must find alternatives to arbitration.

The fact is, you are an enemy of the system simply for being here. You are an enemy of the elite if you attempt to find prosperity and stability for yourself. If you attempt to find alternatives later, when you won’t be able to involve your community, when all of our lines of communication are shut down, you will be singled out, and disposed of.

Get into your community and create ways to arbitrate disputes between yourselves without going to the corrupt courts. Get into your community and create neighborhood watches for crime, don’t call the police. Get into your community and volunteer to create the materials and labor to build your own roads, don’t vote to get the state to come build it for you. Get into your communities and make gardens to feed yourselves and find ways to fertilize those gardens without going to Home Depot or Lowe’s or the grocery store. Find something to which all of you ascribe some value and use it instead of the Federal Reserve Note. Who cares what you use? Barter if you have to.

The only way the economy will revive itself is if we divorce it from the present failing economy and make our own. This is called the counter economy. We need it now.

Set aside the hierarchies and include everyone you know in this effort. Poor, rich, white, black, men, women, religiously inclined, non-religiously inclined, etc.

Get into your community and seek alternatives. NOW.

“Anarchism,” simply means looking at the corrupt systems, calling a spade a spade, and then seeking alternatives to those systems. There is no chaos in the above suggestions, is there? That’s because anarchists aren’t bent on chaos. We’re bent on the protection of human life, freedom, peace and temporal hope.

PANIK KITTEH SEZ NAO!

(2) If you have no religious affections, I suggest you stop reading now unless you’re interested in the Christian faith, in which case I encourage you to go on reading. If you have religious affections opposite the Christian faith you may want to depart now, or, if you’re interested, go on reading. Any way it goes, don’t read this and then go off on some rant about Christians. If you read even a sentence of the above then you know as well as I do that I like you and don’t plan on crusading or killing on behalf of Jesus any time soon. Don’t get on your high horse about how Anarchism doesn’t go with Christianity either, because Christianity works ultimately for the eternal, and the Bible doesn’t tell Christians anywhere in it’s New Testament to kill or coerce other people because they’re different. It calls for proclamation and peace among peoples. Calm down. I’m not here to coerce you.

We have only one ultimate hope, and that is Christ. If this state/bank elite descends into the Totalitarian Dictatorship that it is promising to become, it will stop at nothing to destroy us. You may decide not to seek alternatives. That is fine. I think it is lazy and a bad application of the gospel, but whatever. We must hold to the fact that our one and only hope is that Jesus has saved our souls from hell to heaven to spend in joy with God for all eternity. We’re reconciled to God. We’re part of the one Kingdom, ruled by the one King, that will never collapse. ”We do not see” Jesus with all things in subjection to Himself yet, but we hope that one day we will. We must hang onto this hope.

In 2007 I preached a sermon from the life of the prophet Habakkuk. As a joke, I said, “Imagine if Wall Street collapsed, then we really would be saying what Habakkuk was saying!” Everyone laughed. It was a funny joke. The next year, Wall Street’s collapse began. No one is laughing. This is serious. What did Habakkuk say? Habakkuk said, “Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places.”

The fig trees aren’t blossoming. The fields are about to stop yielding food. The herds are about to be gone. What was a joke in 2007 is dead serious today. God is sovereign. You must hang on to that. You must proclaim the truth of the gospel, seek temporal alternatives as best you can, and rest in your faith in Christ.

It is NOT against Romans 13 to seek alternatives. Submit if you must, and I would argue ultimately that in most things that don’t pertain to humanitarian causes, you must, but that does not negate the need to seek alternatives. It does not negate the fact that humans were created in the image of God and God Himself has exercised mercy on them because he deems them valuable. If the state is killing, do not endorse it and do not kill with it. Suffer the state if you must, ignore the state, and seek alternatives.

Most importantly, non-coercively proclaim the gospel, and rest in your faith. Today. NOW.

From Facebook. HI-larious.

I Am the Liberal Radical

Outside of our REI there are often people doing street fundraising for various causes. “Would you like to protect our forests?” “Hi! I’m from Planned Parenthood.” “Can you spare a moment for our wilderness?” And so on.

I used to respond to these people with the vitriol of the angry right-winger that I was. That was a day when I referred to them as “Crazy Liberal Radicals.”

Today, as I exited REI, a fellow stopped me saying, “Would you like to protect our rivers?” I said, “Tell me how you’re going to protect our rivers?” He replied, “Corporations are dumping waste into our waterways and polluting our environment. We intend to lobby and convince congress to use the EPA to block these corporations from doing this.”

This is generally viewed in our society as the “liberal” thing to say and do.

What happened next was eye-opening to me. I said, in more less precise wording, “I agree with you that the corporations are evil. I agree that what they are doing environmentally is wasteful and wrong. However, the EPA is corrupt. Congress is corrupt. The state is corrupt. You cannot possibly hope to do good using congress to block the corporations because congress and the corporations are indissolubly linked. You cannot damn one and attempt to use the other. You must do away with both of them. If you wish to protect our rivers, you must abolish the state entirely which will, in turn, abolish corporate elitism and statist market monopolization. This abolition will free the market, free the people, and free us morally. Plutocratic oligarchs will cease polluting our rivers if they do not exist.”

Their open-mouthed stares of amazement caught me off guard.

As I walked away from the conversation I realized some things.

I used to abhor these people because they talked about the EPA and “saving the environment,” and, “equal rights,” and so on. I was right-wing, of course I abhorred them. Their color of coercion (blue vs. my red) was against my color of coercion. Their team was the rival to my team. But I’m not on a team anymore. The stunned responses of these “liberal radicals,” shocked me. And I suddenly saw something more clearly than I ever have before.

I am the Liberal Radical.

The Only Honest Political Philosophy

Anarchism is simply the acknowledgement that tyrants are tyrants, that depravity is depravity, that corruption is corruption, and that injustice is injustice. Anarchists are simply calling a spade a spade. No excuses are invented to defend a favorite flavor of politics. All other strains of political philosophy attempt to redefine these things as something else. They rename tyrants and call them “presidents” (which somehow adds legitimacy to the tyrannical nature of the job,) rename depravity and say instead, “mistakes were made,” rename corruption and call it “protection” and “security” and “taxation,” and they rename injustice and call it “law.”

The political systems of the world are utterly backwards.

Why I’m With the 99%

I work hard. I have a job. I feel entitled to nothing. I have never taken a government handout and never will. I pay my bills. I have never been hungry. I am the 1% with my nice Subaru and a heated home and tasty food for dinner.

However:

I will never endorse elitist corporatism and plutocratic oligarchy.

I will never endorse statist tyranny.

I don’t want a state handout or more regulatory power over corporations or taxes for the rich. I don’t want corporations or taxes or states.

I don’t want a state, period.

Why?

It is the state that has enabled elitist corporate bossism through market monopoly, and I will have nothing to do with either, because both are corrupt.

Insofar as “The 99%” supports the toppling of bossism and tyrannical state enabled monopolies, I’m with the 99%.
