Favorite Album of My Year - #9

#9: Fat Freddy’s Drop - Dr. Boondigga and the Big BW

So I was resting from a day of hard snowboarding photography munching on some quality enchiladas cooked up by a generous host when a jazzy, hip, almost R&B but not quite R&B, almost rap but just shy of rap, artist came across the sound waves.  Soul?  Is it soul I’m looking for?  I’m not sure.  The genre is “Jazz” but it just isn’t quite jazz.  It’s so interesting, smooth, and eclectic that I caught on to it immediately.  It’s made its way through my speakers a few times this year.
