So, in 2011, I listened to a lot of new music.  Some of it was old and I just discovered it.  Some of it was new and I got to be a part of everybody discovering it at once.  This post and following will lay out my ten favorite albums that I listened to this year.  They are my most frequented in Spotify and iTunes and the ones that impressed me most with their lyrical and melodic genius.  You will notice that I am consistently 1.5 years behind the times.

#10: The Wood Brothers - Up Above My Head

I discovered this album while climbing on Lumpy Ridge with my friend Scott.  The fine blends of folksy bluegrass have a sort of “woodsy taste” to them that fit the surroundings perfectly.  I’m not completely taken with this style of music on an average day but more than once you could find me lazing around to this.
